Beatriz Velilla is a screenwriter and film director, partner of the production company Desberdina Films (Bilbao/Madrid). Playwright, teacher and stage director, graduate of the RESAD (Royal School of Dramatic Art) and Master in Social Policy (University of Deusto), she is the founder of the company BarLovento Teatro.
Beatriz is a member of (H)EMEN (Audiovisual & Performing Arts Women’s Association of the Basque Country), CIMA (Association of Women Filmmakers and Audiovisual Media), SGAE (General Society of Authors and Publishers) and ADE (Association of Stage Directors). She trained with Tina Olivares (Creando Cine) and Diego Sabanés, among many others.
Jury member for the Festival Internacional de Cine Invisible “Film Sozialak” in Bilbao (2022) and “Alcances” (Cadiz, 2023).
